Leadership Structure at C3 Church
We adhere to a biblical model of leadership that reflects both shared responsibility and clear pastoral oversight. Our Lead Pastor serves in partnership with individuals who function as elders, deacons, and ministry leaders—each fulfilling their biblical role as part of the body of Christ under the headship of Jesus. We use the term Lead Pastor simply to express this biblical function in language that’s familiar today, though the role itself mirrors that of an overseer or elder in Scripture. To ensure strong accountability and transparency, C3 Naples also has an Advisory Board that oversees financial stewardship and church administration.
This model follows the pattern established in the early church. In Acts 15, we see James providing pastoral oversight and guidance as the church in Jerusalem sought unity and direction. Paul later entrusts Timothy and Titus with the same kind of responsibility, instructing them to appoint elders and maintain sound doctrine. Through these examples, we see both a lead overseer providing vision and order, and a plurality of elders serving alongside to shepherd the flock. Letters such as Philippians show this shared leadership in practice, where elders and deacons work together under Christ’s authority. Beyond these leadership functions, Scripture teaches that the body of Christ thrives through a diversity of spiritual gifts—each member contributing uniquely as described in Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, and Ephesians 4. Our desire is to reflect that same biblical balance—cultivating unity, humility, and accountability among those who serve, so that every part of the body functions together for God’s glory.
